How sound waves travel

Third Class were learning all about how sound waves travel and they visited First Class to show them how they got on. They worked on this together and both classes learned a lot about sound waves and also had fun in explaining their work.

How sound waves travel (Third Class)
Your will need:
·       A bowl
·       Cling film
·       A baking tray
·       A wooden spoon
·       Sugar
Method:
1.     Stretch the cling firm tightly over the bowl.
2.     Sprinkle a small amount of sugar onto the cling film.
3.     Hold the baking tray.
4.     Watch what happens.
Result:
·       Sound makes the sugar jump which causes the sugar to travel.
