Fifth Class worked on some activities that incorporated Engineering.
Group One
We used two pieces of paper to make a bridge in our groups. Our bridge was made by making box lids out of a piece of a paper and with the other half we fanned it to hold the middle of the bridge.
The main part of the bridge was made by putting nearly the whole half piece in half again.
Then we positioned everything into place and rested the piece of paper on top. I thought our bridge was very stable as it was low down.
Group Two
We built the tallest tower and the longest bridge. Our group stacked the paper on top of each other after making the paper into cylindrical shapes for the tallest tower. Some of us decided to keep the cylinders and put another longer sheet across them Others, like the group I was in , cut the paper and folded it in half. We then put a small section of the paper balancing on another piece set up like a camping tent. We repeated the same thing again and again, That was our bridge.
